Lonely Hearts

Lonely Hearts

.

Lonely hearts on a Friday night,

go where people go, do what people do,

hoping to find another lonely heart,

to fill the void they feel in their souls.

.

Lonely hearts on a Saturday night,

go where people go, do what people do,

hoping to find another lonely heart,

to curl up on the couch and watch Netflix with them.

.

Lonely hearts on a Sunday afternoon,

float around their house, make plans for their week,

hoping to find another lonely heart,

to make plans for their future together.

.

Lonely hearts on a regular weekday,

go to work, go to the gym, come home,

hoping to find another lonely heart,

to make the most mundane days, the most wonderful.

.

Lonely hearts on a regular normal day,

talk to some people here, there, over there, everywhere,

hoping to find another lonely heart,

to talk to about everything and anything.

.

Lonely hearts on some rare days,

sit alone at home, feeling devastated and down,

hoping to find another lonely heart,

who gets it and understands the pain.

.

Lonely hearts on random days,

go where people go, do what people do,

and meet another lonely heart,

who helps them forget the loneliness.

.

Lonely hearts on some unsuspecting days,

go where people go, do what people do,

and learn to love another lonely heart,

who makes them feel like loved hearts.

.

Lonely hearts spend many days,

going where people go, doing what people do,

instead of going where they want to go,

doing what they want to do.

.

Lonely hearts spend most days,

squeezing into what society says hearts do,

hiding the shades of them,

that other lonely hearts may love.

.

Lonely hearts spend every day,

hoping to find another lonely heart,

thinking that they’ll feel whole,

when they meet another lonely heart.

.

Lonely hearts spend every hour,

believing that their life is lacking,

something is missing,

something is wrong with them.

.

Lonely hearts are just lonely,

in a society that places ego before love,

frowns on honest expression of feelings,

encourages game playing and lies.

.

Lonely hearts spend every second,

not knowing how much they are loved,

not realizing how valuable they are,

not seeing how many hearts are around them.
